Free parking is ONLY available in lots 1A and 1B (see our Location map) after 4:30 p.m. on Friday. If you arrive earlier than 4:30pm, you will have to pay for parking in the Veale Parking Tower (lot 53) at the posted rates. If you park at a location other than posted Lots 1A, 1B, or 53; we are not responsible for any parking tickets or loss of access to your vehicle. Some lots will be closing for maintenence and it is highly suggested that marathon attendees stick with the lots we suggest.

Construction Information
The Adelbert Road Bridge is open. The Cornell Road Bridge is closed to vehicular traffic. It is the section above the railroad tracks between Murray Hill and Circle Drive. Pedestrian traffic will be maintained on the Cornell Road Bridge.

Beginning Tuesday, January 16, utility work will begin along the south side of Euclid Avenue from Adelbert Road west to East 107th Street. A roaming work zone will be implemented throughout the project area. Traffic signs and arrow boards will be posted. This is the first phase of the Euclid Avenue Corridor Project work in University Circle.

Admission Information
Pricing for this year's science fiction marathon will remain at $25 per person.

If you are unable to stay for the entire marathon, you may purchase tickets for movies individually. If you surrender a state or college ID to us, we will allow you to pay $3 per movie you wish to stay for. You are free to stay for more movies than you initially pay for, however you will be charged the balance before return of your ID. You may also simply purchase a wristband for the balance of the marathon upon your arrival if you do not wish to surrender an ID (maximum charge of $25.)

Sci-Fi Marathon Documentary
If you attended Marathon last year, you may recall local filmmaker Frank Tarasco was making a documentary. He will be back this year to film more interviews. Avatar, the good son, is human and seeks a passive life of non-aggression in order to avoid responsibility for the bloodshed and despair prophesied. Blackwolf's disastrous attempts to assassinate his brother compel Avatar to marshal forces against Blackwolf, leading to the ultimate confrontation.

Japan is thrown into a panic after several ships explode and are sunk. At first the authorities think its either underwater mines or underwater volcanic activity. The authorities soon head to Odo Island, close to where several of the ships were sunk. One night, something comes onshore and destroys several houses and kills several people. A later expedition to the island led by paleontologist Professor Kyohei Yemani, his daughter Emiko and a young navy frogman Hideto Ogata (who also happens to be Emiko's lover even though she is betrothed to Doctor Daisuke Serizawa)soon discover something more devastating than imagined in the form of a 164 foot tall monster whom the natives call Gojira. Now the monster begins a rampage that threatens to destroy not only Japan, but the rest of the world as well. Can the monster be destroyed before it is too late and what role will the mysterious Serizawa play in the battle?

Betrayed by his own political leaders and disgusted by the atrocities of this never-ending war, Hendricksson decides he must negotiate a separate peace with the New Economic Bloc's decimated forces. But to do so, he will have to cross a treacherous wasteland where the deadliest threat comes from the very weapons he helped to create.

In 1921 a team of British archaeologists led by Sir Joseph Whemple uncovers the 3700 year old mummy of Imhotep. Unknown to them, the Mummy now exists as the mysterious Egyptian, Ardath Bay, who helps the expedition uncover the tomb of his ancient love. He then uses his mystic powers mesmerize the reincarnation of his lost love in the form of Helen Grosvenor. When Sir Joseph interferes he mysteriously dies. Frank Whemple, with the help of Dr. Muller, attempts to discover the key to Ardath Bay's powers and get Helen back.

Workers excavating at an underground station in London uncover the skeletal remains of ancient apes with large skulls. Further digging reveals what is at first believed to be an unexploded German bomb from World War II. Missile expert Colonel Breen is brought in to investigate, accompanied by Professor Bernard Quatermass. When the interior of the "missile" is exposed, a dead locust-like creature that resembles the devil is found. It is determined by Quatermass that these "locusts" are evil Martians who altered the brains of our simian ancestors to eventually lay claim to the Earth. When Quatermass's suspicion that the missile can reactivate the dormant evil in humans is confirmed, all hell breaks loose.
